Chocolates and other updates

We have a soft-return of confections starting this week:

  • Mice!  We have little chocolate mice in the case right now!  The filling is a blended chocolate ganache (milk and dark) with orange and a hint of nutmeg. 
  • There are also turtles!  Pecans tossed in caramel and coated in dark chocolate with a pinch of sea salt (we use Portuguese, currently). 
  • Marshmallows!  Wait..marshmallows?  Yep.  As we develop our fall line, we’ll be exploring a bit in the wider world of confections, including marshmallows, nougat, and chew caramels.  The mallows are the first out, as we’re just getting a good look at what we want to make. 

Be on the look out for other items as the next couple of weeks progress.  We’ll have more ganache and butter creams returning.  Our line of enrobed centers may increase as well. 

This morning also saw the return of Dutch apple pie- a limited number the 3” individual pies are baked off each morning, so if you come in early, you might be able to get one fresh out of the oven.

This weekend will see the return of pecan pies (I think I jumped the gun with a twitter post last week…), and pumpkin cheesecake! 

For you savory lovers out there- our spinach and feta croissant is back (we got a LOT of requests for it), and be on the look out for some new savory trials …Chef has mentioned hand-pies, and Jay has been continuing to play with making stromboli every now and then.
