Friday notes
So blog posts have been a bit sparse the last month or so. There’s kind of an end of summer lull it seems, just before the transition to fall. That, and the end of summer this year really makes a mind want to be outside! Sunshine is a good thing.
One thing that is going on is the King 5/Evening Magazine Best of Western Washington contest. Now, we don’t often like to toot our own horn while a contest is going on, but sometimes it’s fun to say ‘Yay Us!’ in a little friendly competition. This year, we’re up for Best Bakery and Best Dessert! It started at the end of August and voting ends on October 9th.
Besides voting for your favorites in a variety of categories, you can also explore and see what different places you might go to have to offer. For example, there a some long-time bakeries in some of the smaller communities around the region that would be fun to plan a small road trip around visiting. It also shows you the places that locals like, which is a bonus to anyone traveling for any reason.
So, check out the site, look at who is nominated or nominate your own favorites, and vote for them. We’d appreciate your vote, to be sure, but we also know that there are a lot of local favorites. If you have one, vote for them and let them know their doing a good job. They really do appreciate knowing you like what they make. Have a great weekend everyone!
